big news i suppose: rick's new band, Obits, played their first show
this past weekend. and john's new band, Night Marchers, are playing
their first shows soon, and have an album scheduled for release March.
Also in Night Marchers: Gar Wood on guitar and (YES!) Jason Kourkounis on drums.

yeah, so the band is no more. apologies to the one or two nice folks who sent me links over the course of the past year.
due to a variety of circumstances, i was unable to see the hot snakes on the audit tour,
or their final NYC shows this month, and as a result,
updating this site was just a real kick in the balls.
anyway- swami records recorded some show or the other and hopefully there will be a dvd. that's about it. hot snakes were the greatest band i ever saw, and their songs get me like none other, so the news that this is probably the end of the line for rick & john is hard to take. cross yer fingers and hope for a "hell freezes over" reunion in 2018. maybe by then, i'll have grabbed all of the hot snakes pics that are left on this grand world wide web and saved them for posterity. out. |

| first leg of tour starting. positive reviews popping up around the internet. article in some baltimore paper quoting the band to the effect that they're focused and ready to make up for lost time. even more tour dates posted- a week in the UK even. | |

if you're here, you know the album kills. i'm not going to start posting links to straight album reviews- reviews are a good network for recommendations, but they're not a literary form to be enjoyed or re-read. if you haven't heard the album, check it out. check out HI-LIGHTS, which the swami so graciously made available on the interned-net. if you're some punk kid who downloaded the album for free- get off your hands and order the vinyl from the swami. i'm sure these guys have bills to pay too. |

| The Burning Brides start recording their first proper major label album for V2 at Oceanway Studios in L.A. on Monday. That’s where Radiohead recorded their last record so you know it’s gonna be posh. Sometime after basic tracks are done, their drummer Jason is going down to lay down drums for the new Hot Snakes record. Bonus. |
